AASA will be participating in KSU Student Life’s Orientation Tailgate this summer.
This is an event held each Friday during summer orientation where registered student organizations can recruit new KSU students as potential members. AASA will need current members to help out at our table.
The dates of Orientation Tailgate that AASA will be participating in include: June 25th, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd. Set-up will begin at 10:30 a.m. (volunteers must arrive at this time).

2. The KSU Department of Theatre and Performance Studies presents August Wilson’s “Fences”
Time: Tonight (4/13) through Saturday night (4/17) at 8:00 p.m. & Sunday (4/18) at 2:00 p.m.

3. 2010 March of Dimes
Time: Saturday, April 24th, 8:30 a.m.
Place: Marietta Middle School (121 Winn Street, Marietta, GA 30064)
Description: The March of Dimes is an annual march for babies that raises money to promote healthy pregnancies. AASA will be participating in this event through Volunteer Kennesaw (VKSU). (More information: http://marchforbabies.org/)

It will conclude the day-long Annual African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS) Department’s Student Conference, similar to last year. (Information on this conference)
Prior to the Poetic Expressions event, AASA is sponsoring a dinner for the AADS Student Conference at 5:00 p.m. in the Social Science Building.
Please try to attend some of the events within the conference, the dinner, as well as our Poetic Expressions event if you can!
Next month on March 18th, AASA will be hosting its annual “Poetic Expressions” event. We are very excited about the opportunity to bring this event to campus once again. This year’s event will be a students showcase featuring and highlighting the talents of Kennesaw State Students. If you are a student who performs poetry or would like to perform for the very first time, we want you to come out. We are having two screenings to recruit talent for the event. The dates and locations are as followed:

AASA recently held its Annual Miss Black History Pageant on Friday, January 29th. The event was attended by well over 120 people. Thank you to everyone who came out. Winners were as followed:
